Vayana Dinam (P N Panicker Anusmaranam)
In connection with vayanadinam, the NSS unit convened a special meeting. In the meeting Mr.Vinod M M, teacher of this school presided over the meeting.
Mr.Saji P V, Press reporter and Malayalam teacher, delivered the key note address.
In his address he reminded about the contributions by Sri.P.N.Panicker for uplifting the reading habit among the public at large. He also reminded about various social obligations that each volunteer should keep and the way of attaining them by reading different books
Ward member Hemalatha Ravi inaugurated current years library function by distributing books to volunteers.
On the same day, to commemorate 'Vayanadinam' reding competition for the entire students was conducted.
In this context it would be worthwhile to mention the name of Jeemol George of II MLT, of the volunteers, who recited a poem written by herself.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of reading competition.

Cholorination of wells in adopted village
As a precautionary measure against monsoon diseases, the NSS volunteers conducted chlorination programme in the household wells in our adopted village. The volunteers spend the entire second Saturday for imparting awareness among the villagers regarding the precautions to be taken against monsoon disease and also distributed leaflets for the same. Poothrikka Gramapanchayath President Sri.Nibu K Kuriakose formally inaugurated the Chlorination activity, Ward Member Hemalatha Ravi, Sri.Paulose P.V, former programme officer, Vinod M M, Shija Varghese, Shibu Varghese of this school participated in this programe.

Awareness Programme
– Monsoon Diseases
This programme was conducted in
association with Poothrikka Public Health Centre. Health Inspectors
Sri.Sreekanth and Sri.Sudheesh took
classes to the volunteers about the various monsoon diseases and the causes of
the same. They explained various precautionary measures to be taken against the
spread of this type of iseases. They emphasised on the need of mosquito
eradication and suggest possible ways to eradicate the same. They also trained
the volunteers about chlorination methodology.

World Environment Day was observed to make awareness among the students on the importance of preserving our biodiversity, the need to identify problems related to the environment and ways to take corrective action. Waste management and Environmental protection - Awareness Programme
The session helped the students to instill the need of preserving a good environment by the effective management of waste. The drama performed by Suchithwa Mission helped the volunteers to understand the grave situation which our country is facing right now and the remedial measures to be adopted on account of this.
